With todays\' shrinking economy...more and more people are looking into starting their own internet marketing home business. But how can you be sure it\'s safe and help protect yourself from getting scammed? Finally... there are 6 ways to protect yourself even before you invest one-red-nickel into your future business. Imagine... what it would be like to look \"behind the curtain\" of your potential internet marketing business, to make-sure that it\'s real, honest and successful! Now you can with this article.
There are so many people now that want to find a better way to deal with todays' shrinking economy. Many people do get a second job in the rat race. But many more people realize that that's just not enough anymore! And that there has to be something better. So they go online to try and find an internet marketing business, that they can do at home.
Now everyone has different opinions and desires for the type of business they want to get involved in. But nobody wants to get scammed!
Here are 6 important steps that can definitely help protect you from making the wrong decision:
Do this before you join any business!
1) Read and listen to what the company has to say several times and thoroughly. Take notes so you don't forget the questions you have or for more clarity. You can even tape record it...so you don't miss a beat. Especially read... the 'terms and conditions.'
2) Don't be afraid to ask a lot of detailed questions. Or to ask them to explain something that you just didn't understand. That's what they are there for. And if you find they're short with you or that they're talking in circles trying to evade your question... then your guard should go up!
If your gut feeling is telling you that something doesn't feel right... then go with it! That's natures way of trying to protect you and trying to tell you that something is wrong. At that point...just walk away! This might be a sign of a weakness in their support team.
3) Before you join...check to see what the company is selling. If they aren't selling products or services, and all they want is for you to keep signing up new members, then they are most likely a scam or an illegal pyramid scheme.
4) Type in the name of the business in Google. See what they have to say about that business. See if there are any reviews or comparisons about them. See if there's just a few negative comments or a whole bunch. You don't have to be afraid of a couple negative comments. Some people just like to complain and tear others down. If it's just a few bad comments, the company can still be good. But if there's a lot of them, then that's another story. Make sure you read quite a lot of the comments... before you make a decision.
You should also take into account the size of the company and how many years they've been around.
5) Better Business Bureau (BBB) - Do check with the BBB about the company that you're interested in. There, you'll be able to see what the companies reputation is like. And you'll get to see how many complaints they had in the past 36 months.
You should know that, if there is no comments on that company, then this means that either the company hasn't had any complaints in the past 36 months or that the company is new.
Warning! You need to be aware that some businesses can actually have more than one business name, address, telephone number and even email address. Many scam companies are notorious for this!
I know many people that fell into this type of scam and it even happened to me! It was after this episode, that I smartened up and learned how to protect myself. This is how you can make smarter and safer choices, too.
6) Federal Trades Commission (FTC) - Is another organization to help protect the consumers. They provide information to help us consumers spot, stop and avoid these bad news companies.
