You may not think posting in forums would do anything for your Internet Marketing credibility but if you think that then you must read on! A forum is a brilliant way to build reputation and trust. People turn to forums for help. FREE help is what they are looking for and in a forum that is what you should provide. People will appreciate you taking the time and effort to respond to their problems and if you have provided them with valuable help then you will have built that all important step to trust. "So how does this get me sales? Do I whack a few links to my website in the forum?" NO! That's not what this is about and in addition to annoying people you will probably be banned from the forum as this usually breaks the rules.

Your Signature Box! This is where it all fits in to place. You are usually permitted to put a small signature box on your profile with up to 2-3 links. Each time you post in a forum or respond to a post your sig box is displayed at the bottom.

People reading valuable information from you or that have had a problem solved by your help are more than likely to take a quick peek at your website. If you have an opt in form then there is a good chance they'll fill in their details and become part of your list or if you are selling something then they also may consider a purchase if the product looks good because they know you are a helpful trusted person.

Whatever your niche there is a good chance a forum exists; from dog training to internet marketing I'm sure you'll find a forum. So sign up and start posting your help and see what that does to the traffic your site gets.

Don't forget to read the rules of the forum first, there will be guidelines to what you can and can't do with your signature box. Stick to the rules and everyone is a winner.
